The music production again is oriented to a classic 80's sound but with that 'Munatixjection' carefully measured by Josh Sleurs that immediately has the ability to hook anyone to party moods! The bass in this tune is the highlight and core of the track along with the powerful, vibrant and elegant tones of Ricky's vocals. The retrosynths again are very well crafted and the overall efx are implemented in the right doses and uplift the whole mix to a very high quality level. Munatix is one of those new artists that have a great chemistry that is really hard to find these days, honestly. We recommend Munatix to be your first selection for kicking up the mood, setting up the vibes to dance in a party or simply wanting to listen to good hearted, fun and modernized 80's inspired retro electronic tunes all night long! ‘Groovin’ Is My Hobby’ was the first song that was written by Josh at the start of 2015 and it was also recorded back then. The song has a positive and energetic vibe. It was inspired by classic retro British style synthpop. Unfortunately, the first singer called it quits after a year of working in the studio. Shortly after, Josh asked Ricky if he felt like joining. He did not know how things would evolve, the name ‘Munatix’ was not yet chosen. Ricky and Josh knew each other very well, since they had been playing together in another band for years. He did not have to think twice about it, he said yes immediately! Afterwards, they started working on new songs. After having released ‘I’m Home Free’ they tried out ‘Groovin’ Is My Hobby’ together. The song had to be transposed to fit Ricky’s vocal reach. Josh tweaked some things to the original synth lines and drums. And that was it.”
